HCG diet Weight Loss Program

Dr. Santos was one of the first doctors to introduce the HCG diet to our patients in the lower mainland. We have alot of experience with the diet and the drug. We monitor patients carefully to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Dr. Santos's weight loss program begins first with a very comprehensive blood test. It tests for thyroid problems, liver function, kidney function, electrolytes, anemia, etc.  The test will reveal any metabolic problems you may have. Those identified will be corrected with supplementation or medications. 

The HCG hormone is found in everyone – males and females – but it’s only active in pregnant women, providing nutrients to the fetus and the mother to ensure a healthy pregnancy.

During his research in the 1950s, Dr.Simeons found that this hormone could actually stimulate the hypothalamus gland in non-pregnant men and women, which in turn resets the metabolism to burn fat more effectively.The HCG weight loss program has been around for over 40 years.

The HCG diet involves daily injections of the HCG hormone. While on the injections, you will be prescribed a 800 callorie diet. Most patients expect to lose 1/2 lb to 1lb per day. This is considered a rapid weight loss program.  We have treated hundred of patients with this diet plan. The diet is extremely successfuil and we put our patients on a maintanence program for 3 weeks afterwards to maintain the results. 

How much does the diet plan cost?

The cost of the plan will be $200 for starting up the plan and $50 per week for the following 3-8weeks. This includes B vitamin  injections, HCG diet booklet, recipe book, blood tests and consult fee. 

The price of the HCG prescription is separate and costs about $85 at the pharmacy.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

Most patients lose about 1/2lb to 1lb per day. Most patients lost 20-40lbs per month. This depends on your age and current weight. We have had hundreds of patients that have completed the plan. The results have been great!

How long is the HCG program?

This all depends on how much weight you need to lose. Typically, the HCG diet is 3-8 weeks long, however, some patients may need to do another cycle if more weight loss is desired. Afterwards, a maintence program is recommended to keep the weight off and continue weight loss.

Do the HCG drops work?

No!You may have seen HCG being sold online as homeopathic drops. They do not work. You can test the product yourself by doing a pregnancy test and you will see that you have no HCG in your body. Dr. Santos will give you a prescription for HCG that you will get from any pharmacy. You will then bring your bottle back and we will show you how to administer it. The cost of the prescription is about $85.

Is it safe?

Yes, the diet has been around for 40 years and thousands of patients have done very well on the diet without any serious complications. The dose that is being injected is very small compared to levels found in a pregnant women. Also, you will only be on the injections for a short period of time.  You will be monitored on a weekly basis to ensure that you are not suffering from any side  effects.
